Cresheim Cottage in the Community

Beginning in September 2006, each Third Tuesday OUT event is held as a benefit for a local non-profit organization that is geared towards empowerment and education around LGBT issues. Click here for more information about Third Tuesday OUT and the organizations that we have supported.

Through donations and advertising, the Cottage is proud to support a number of community organizations and events. Below is a partial list:

Allens Lane Art Center
Since its founding in 1953, Allens Lane Art Center has been a cornerstone of the Mt. Airy community by bringing the residents together to participate in and enjoy the arts. 

Center for Civil Rights
The Center's mission is to advocate equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals in Pennsylvania through direct legal services, education and policy reform.

Northwest Interfaith Movement
Since 1969, NIM has been providing Northwest Philadelphia communities with indispensable programs to aid and assist young children, their families, and the frail elderly. Through the efforts of staff and volunteers, NIM and its congregations and faith-based partners promote interfaith action, diversity, and social justice through advocacy and service.

Philadelphia Family Pride
An advocacy, support and social netowrk for LGBT families.

Stagecrafters
Each year The Stagecrafters produce six plays in our 184-seat theater, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings. Located in the heart of Chestnut Hill in Northwest Philadelphia,The Stagecrafters is an organization of volunteers dedicated to producing affordable first rate theater for the community.

Weaver's Way Co-Op
Weavers Way is a member-owned retail cooperative in Philadelphia's West Mt. Airy section. A community institution since 1973; Weavers Way now has over 3.000 member households and annual sales of over $5 million. In addition to the food store around which this co-op was organized; Weavers Way now offers such additional services as: a catering; credit union; an energy co-op;  discounts at area businesses; common threads; photocopying; fax; and check cashing.

WXPN
WXPN 88.5 FM, the nationally recognized leader in Triple A music and the premier guide for discovering new and significant artists in rock, blues, roots, and folk, is the non-commercial, member-supported radio service of the University of Pennsylvania.
